The Northern Kentucky Amateur Radio Club (NKARC) and the Kentucky District 7
Amateur Radio Emergency Response Team (KD7ARET) have joined forces for Field
Day 2007 at Banklick Woods Park, Shelter #2, located at 420 Independence
Station Rd, in Independence KY.  The groups will be operating 3 or 4 HF
(High Frequency) stations using various operating modes, along with an
additional GOTA station as well as VHF as K4CO.  A Saturday afternoon
cookout is planned for members, families and invited guests.  The public,
local media and officials have been invited, press releases have been sent
out.

Members of both clubs are invited to attend and participate in setup,
operation and teardown.  Visitors can observe hams using a variety of
operating modes, learn how hams serve their communities during disasters,
[Tim Anderson] lean about how to become licensed amateur radio operators and
even make their own contacts at the Get-On-The Air (GOTA) station.

Field Day is a national event during which amateur radio operators (hams)
setup radio stations in less than optimal conditions using emergency power
and portable antennas.  The hams then make as many contacts as possible
during a 24-hour period.
