[KYHAM] Central Kentucky ARRL Hamfest, It's Getting Closer

You can sure tell the hamfest date is getting closer and closer. I picked up the
plaque this morning that will be presented to the winner of the Ernie Farmer
Memorial Award for 2007. Wow! The plaque really looks nice and the
person selected this year will be very proud to display it in her/his shack.
Proud not only because it is a very handson plaque, but the reason for
receiving the honor and being recognized by her/his peers. Make you
wonder who the winner is? We'll be recognizing the person during the
hamfest, at about 2:00 PM, so come on out and show your appreciation
of the work this person devotes to helping make Amateur Radio great.

Also we have been receiving calls by persons who want to volunteer to
work during the day, or just wanted information about the hamfest, its
location, information about the exam session, etc. We will be needing
volunteers to work and we encourage you to call and let us know when
you can work, what task you would prefer (ticket sales, parking cars,
organizing parking in the tailgating area, working the Club/ARRL table,
helping with the license examsession, working at the MARS special
event station, or working talk-in). The more folks we have volunteer
the less time you will have to work. Pass the word and encourage your
friends to come out and help.
