What Radio gear can you bring on airplane/

Somebody asked a very good question about what can you bring through the TSA checkpoint ham radio related.?

Hi all,
Good question and an easy answer is YES all electronics are allowed through the TSA security carry on checkpoint.
But keep things in mind- due to their nature they may get you some extra security screening after all they are electronics and many of the items may have never been seen by some TSA officers.
Simply take the item and place it in a provided security bin/tray ALL BY ITSELF- the X-RAY operator gets to focus on that item individually and if it does need extra physical inspection your bag is not getting searched also.
This includes all electronic items not just radio’s themselves- and YOU DONT HAVE to do that all-it is just easier on you and those waiting behind you in security to get onto their flight in a timely manner.
HOWEVER -batteries for powering your remote location :Car batteries, wet batteries, or spillable batteries are prohibited from both carry-on and checked baggage unless being used to power a scooter or wheelchair. If a battery is used to power a scooter or wheelchair, you must advise the aircraft operator so that the battery can be properly packaged.
