Richmond Hamfest Sept 24

ARRL State convention 2016

The ARRL state convention was held in concert with the Louisville hamfest in Shepherdsville on September 10, 2016.  It was a great show!img_0822

Kudos to the Louisville hamfest committee.  This small group works year round to ensure that the Louisville hamfest continues to grow and prosper.  This year, they pulled out all the stops.  The doors opened at 8AM and the first order of business was to introduce the Lt Governor of Kentucky, Jenean Hampton, K5EIB.  She is an outstanding spokesperson for amateur radio and the Commonwealth in general.

2016 Wouff Hong

l-r KC4S, KM4IX, N4XM, KC4WQ, AA2EA, KJ4QFK, KM4VJI, KG4WWE

There were several entertaining and informative forums with topics ranging from DXing to ARES/EMCOMM.  The Jefferson County Search Dog team was present in force and the flea market sported many more vendors than in previous years.  There were great deals to be had.  The afternoon wrapped up with an initiation of the Royal Order of the Wouff Hong.

If 2017 is half the show, it will be a good one.  See you then, September 9, 2017
