Kentucky Section Net Schedules
KEN - The Kentucky Emergency Net is held every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern, 6:30 p.m. Central time on 3972.5 kHz. The purpose of this net is training for emergency and is an ARRL sponsored net. Net Manager is Kentucky Section Manager KY4Z.
KDN - The Kentucky Digital Modes Net is held every Wednesday night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, 7:30 p.m. Central time on 3585 kHz using PSK31. The purpose of this net is training in the use of digital modes. Net Manager is Jim Rayburn, KC4BQK.
KDN-2 The Kentucky Digital Modes Net 2 is held every Monday night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, 7:30 p.m. Central time on 3585 kHz using PSK31. The net follows the weekly KEN on Mondays, and you can find some of the regulars hanging out on the KEN frequency of 3972.5 kHz offering help to those with questions about the operation and use of digital modes on the KDN and KDN-2. The purpose of this net is training in the use of digital modes. Net Manager is Jim Rayburn, KC4BQK.
KYN - The Kentucky CW Net is held at 9 PM ET daily on 3535 kHz and runs at about 15 WPM. Information is available from the Net Manager for the format and procedures of the net. Net Control Stations will send to match the speed of those who check in. For more information, contact Net Manager John Farler, K4AVX.

Crittenden County: Havent been able to have the Crittenden County net because the repeater has been turned off dut to interferance. Still trying to talk to owner and trying to get a letter to fcc about it.

Hopkins County: Not much to report on for the month of July except communications support for parking was provieded on July 4th for a community event at the Madisonville City Park to celebrate the 4th. Operators Mike Walker KI4UBL,Wallace Wood KI4CNW, and Nick Bailey KG4URI were present to assist. The Hopkins County Communications Truck was also on scene.

Allen County: There were 568 check-ins.

District 5

Marion County: Attended Red Cross Disaster Relief Training in Bardstown and NIMS Compliance meeting in Elizabethtown

Nelson County: No ARES meeting in July; will resume in August. Ongoing project with county EM to program weather radios.

DEC 5 WA4YPQ – Breckenridge County should be appointing an EC in the next couple of months

Region 2 ASEC K1EG: I am working on an improved digital HF means to contact the state EOC.

District 6

Anderson County: One weather net, 4th of July parade and Fireworks detail.

Oldham County: During the month of July, attended ARTS club meeting, met with repeater owner (K4LLS), completed IS-100, IS-200, & IS-700 FEMA training courses, attended the Shelby County ARES meeting, attended the ARES informational meeting for Trimble County. Added 3 new ARES members.

Trimble County: Trimble county ARES update On july 28 we had our first meeting along with our emergency mgt.we had jim ky4z,Kenney ky4cop,Rick kc4s and Roman ke6ycw EC Oldham county We have new ARES members George kg4lhf,larry kg4zar,John n4rja,Kerry kj4cvi Thanks to all for a great meeting and all of the support Hope two have more to report in months to come 73 Craig kb4ife

Owen County: Attended county LEPC?DES meeting. All other times under DEC report.

DEC 7 AG4BC: Continuing work with Pendleton County EM to get CERT team licensed.

ASEC KY4COP: 2 Shelby Co meetings, 1 Hardin Couty meeting, 1 Jefferson County meeting (ARTS), 1 Bullitt Co meeting (BARS), 1 meeting in Trimble County for presentation for formative meeting of ARES group. Attended ARES forum at Indianapolis ham fest.

District 8

District 9

Carter-Elliot County: I was told I did not send in this months report, but I already, May have got lost in cyberspace, but here is another attempt. Other than working on station improvemants and repairs I really have not done as much as I would have liked, Still trying to heal from broken hip and femur, to include hip replacement and therapy. Will try to get more acomplished this momth, Keith KI4VDC

Floyd county: Checked in day net and ken on 7-11-11 was net control for day netand Checked in day net and ken on 7-25-11 was net control for day net. I think i have sent this but if i have not here it is

Johnson County: Five members of Johnson County ARES were placed on stand-by alert after severe weather caused a tree to fall on a tower causing the tower to fall which had antennas for the Johnson County Sheriffs Department,The Paintsville Fire Department,Johnson County Road Department and the Rural Electric Co-Op. The tower is owned and maintained by Big Sandy Communicationa. As of this report communications have been restored to the affected services at reduced coverage awaiting on a new tower to be erected by Big Sandy Communications. The new tower is sceduled to be completed and fully operational by the first weekend in August.PLEASe NOTE THIS IS AN AMENDED REPORT REFLECTING TOTALS.

Lawrence County: help wa4swf fred jones on getting the louisa repeater back on the air which is now back on the air. nothing else to report for this month.

DEC 9 K4KBR: Have been working on replacement repeater for Phelps. This repeater is part of the east ky linking system.

District 10

Letcher county: The Letcher County ARES net has moved to Monday Nights at 9:00pm. The 145.350 K4TDO/R suffered a lightening strike that wiped out the PA forcing 2 ARES nets to be done with only 250 mW out.It is now off the air for 1 week. A PA is on the bench and should be installed this week.

ASEC Region 4 WA4SWF: Working on some of the counties without EC’s and have sent out some info those areas asking for help. Have prepared literature for handouts at the Huntington, WV Hamfest August 13th lots of KY amateurs attend this and I am looking for help in the ARES, as this area does border our District 9.

District 11

AD4WB DEC 11: I have attended meetings with the Emergency Management Director and the McCreary County Search and Rescue meetings and training for July. I also provided Land Navigation Training for McCreary County SAR Members and installed an antenna mast on one of the SAR boats.

District 12

Jessamine County: On Aug 3 the group was asked to partake in severe weather spotting and reporting to NWS in Louisville, the than within the pass month the group has had numerous code practice session comducted by WR4U and has played a great part in communacation if the time arises, the group will have a meeting of Ares members at the monthly Jaws meeting on Aug 6, at the RJ Cormin Emergency Center to discuss any problems on of making more improvements. The improvement of radio coverage is our biggest taskk at hand.

DEC 13 W2LTB: Two severe weather events not including selective patrol in District 9. :P Byron and the Jessamine crew seem to be picking up steam. Nothing heard from Fayette.
